Types of Solar Trackers

Solar trackers are composed of a fixed part and a movable part, with the objective of following the sun’s movements and of orienting the PV modules (solar panels) perpendicularly to the sun. Thus, you can increase the energy supplies by the installation. There are two main types of solar trackers depending on it’s movement.

Single Axis

The rotation is done on a single axis, which can be horizontal, vertical or oblique.

Dual Axis

Besides moving along the azimuth, they also follow the elevation angle of the sun, thus achieving a full tracking.

Benefits of Solar Trackers

The use of solar trackers is becoming increasingly common in the solar industry as their greatest benefit is that they allow a significant increase in energy production and improved solar gains with their capability of following the sun.

Thanks to these movements, they can increase the production of electricity with respect to fixed installations up to 20% (Single axis) or up to 40% (dual axis).

With solar tracking you can extend the time of available maximum power and thus produce with greater capacity, more hours a day.
